300 million people around the world are barefoot. There are many wonderful organizations that make remarkable impacts for people in need in various countries.  Our organization focuses on our community and neighborhoods here in the United States. Children from low income areas across our country witness rejection for not having the proper clothes and or shoes and in exchange have  experienced low self esteem and some have turned to drastic measures, in order to follow the status quo. A recent study by the University of Glasgow suggests social media pressures cause teenagers to suffer anxiety and depression. Young people are experiencing depression, anxiety, and sleep deprivation ... according to research published by the University of Glasgow. It can be a constant reminder of what we don't have.  Further, we have seen foot conditions arise from not having proper fitting shoes, or shoes of good quality.  These conditions include, but not limited to unstable feet, blisters, deformed toes, and aggravate structural problems like bone spurs, hammer toe, and mallet toe.  Tight or small shoes also stops the brain from communicating with the foot via nerve signals. It also prevents the foot from receiving fresh oxygenated blood, which is required for normal function of the foot.
